My heart goes out to Marilyn's family and friends. I grew up in Reserve Mines . Marilyn stood out in the crowd with her amazing hearty laughter, take charge attitude and kindest of hearts. She was always busy, helping someone. I recall the last time I saw her, years later, I was visiting with my sister. We were at the mall. I heard this wonderful laugh, turned around and knew...Marilyn. She have a warm hug and we briefly chatted and she was on her way :) That was the Marilyn I remember <3 .

My Mom, Della Cooke, grew up with Marilyn on Main Street, Reserve Mines. I heard many stories growing up and lots of laughs when reminiscing. Marilyn was so good to Joe when he was transferred to New Glasgow and always welcoming. Marilyn was a beautiful woman and will be remembered fondly. RIP Marilyn. Joanne and Joe Whitewood and Della (Cooke-MacLeod).

My condolences to Marilyn’s family. I grew up in Reserve Mines and went to school across from her grandparents’ home and store. I spent some wonderful times with Marilyn. Great conversations, lots of laughter and a wonderful person. I often wondered where she went. It has been close to 60 years since I last heard her laugh and saw her big smile. She always had time for the younger kids in the neighbourhood. The kindness she showed me has not, and will not, be forgotten. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
