Obituary of William Robert Langille
NEW GLASGOW – William Robert “Billy” Langille, 68, New Glasgow, passed away, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born New Glasgow, he was a son of Queenie Eloise (Harper) Boggs, Westville Road and the late Kitchener Langille Sr. In earlier years, he had been a coalminer, working in various Pictou County mines. In later years he was a forestry worker. Billy was interested in current and past world events. He enjoyed people’s stories and collected obituary notices to remember their passing. He was very fond of his cats.
Surviving besides his mother, Queenie, are his daughters, Mary, Halifax; Gina and Shannon, Moncton; Martha, Sara Rose, Halifax and Laura “Cookie”, New Glasgow; sons, Billy and Jimmy, New Glasgow; sisters, Doris Langille (Kenny), Halifax; Isabelle (John) Hawley, Eastern Passage; Ivy (Sydney) Varner, New Brunswick; Ruthie Howard (Fred), Bedford; Christena “Sis” (David) Halliday, Mark Road; brothers, Allan White, Westville Road; Gerry White, Westville, numerous nieces and nephews; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his former wife, Ella Jean MacDonald; brother, Kitchener Langille Jr.
The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6th with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Lorne Street Cemetery.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Pictou County SPCA or the Aberdeen Hospital ICU.
