Obituary of Barry Howett Cameron
MERIGOMISH – Barry Howett “Bunny” Cameron, 88, Haven Brook Manor, Riverton, formerly of Merigomish, passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born September 14, 1925 in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Halver Peterson and Minnie Blanch (Crawford) Cameron. He was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Merigomish. Bunny enjoyed working and the camaraderie of his co-workers. He made the most of each day and lived life to the fullest.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Bradley “Betty” (Arbuckle); daughter, Gayle (Blair) Crooks, Dartmouth; sons, Lawrence (Marlene), Abercrombie; Phillip “Phil” (Barb), Valley; Richard (Ina), Lower Barneys River; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Bessie Atwater, Joan Smith and Ivy in infancy; brothers, Earle, Harris, Don, Lindy, Bill and Carl.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel with Rev. Andrew S. MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney’s River.
