Obituary of Elizabeth Ryan
LINACY-Elizabeth Jessie “Liz” Ryan, 79, High Crest Home, New Glasgow formerly of Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully, Friday April 3, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by her family.
Born in Port Hawkesbury, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Jessie (MacIntyre) Ryan. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Also was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, Trenton. Liz loved to bake, dance, listening to music and spending time with family.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna(Darren)Gifford, Alberta; Ronalda(Jamie)Sangster, Trenton; Bernadette Stewart(Rob Rondelet),Merigomish; three step-children; grandchildren, Kelly Gifford; Kayla, Patrick, Brianna, Brittany and Jamie Lee Sangster; Jordan, Samantha, Holly, Nick Stewart;13step-grandchildren;sister-in-law,Doris Lewis; special niece, Crystal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her common-law-husband, of 30 years Rolland L. Fraser; and twenty one siblings
The family will receive visitors 7-9p.m. Tuesday in P. &K. MacDonald funeral home, New Glasgow. Funeral service with Liturgy of the Word will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Gary MacPherson, presiding. Liz’s remains will be transferred to Green’s funeral home in Port Hawkesbury for visitation from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
