Obituary of William Edward Lattie

STELLARTON – William Edward “Billy” Lattie, 59, Stellarton, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Clarence Edward and Jennie Durando (Taylor) Lattie. He had been a long haul trucker with several maritime trucking companies. Prior to early retirement, he was employed with King Freight Lines, Pictou. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a loyal friend to many. Surviving are his wife, Lori-Ann MacDonald; daughter, Tamara Spencer (Gary), Halifax; chosen daughter, Natasha Murdoch (Mike Carter), Stellarton; step-son, Colin Murphy (Lyndsay), Lower Sackville; sisters, Ann Marie (Larry) LeBlanc, Dunsford, Ont.; Valerie (Gene) Sutherland, Lower Sackville; brothers, Doug, Edmonton, Alta; Robert “Bobby” (Debbie), Five Islands, Colchester Co.; Lee Smith (Cindy), St. Margaret’s Bay; grandchildren, Morgan, Lance, Dorian and Norelle. He was predeceased by a son in infancy; brother, Wayne. The family will receive visitor’s 12 -1 p.m. Thursday, December 11 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel when a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Roy officiating. Interment will be in Five Mile River Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
