Obituary of Edith Margaret MacIntosh
THORBURN – Edith Margaret “Edie” MacIntosh, 78, Thorburn, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Robert Bruce and Mary Ellen (Turnbull) Wallace. Prior to retirement, she was employed in housekeeping at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Edie was a strong woman, full of love, who lived a sacrificial life in service to others, especially her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Ruthie Kelm, Ontario; Marilyn (Ian) Fisher, Brookfield; Linda Weatley, Ontario; Norma MacIntosh, Donna MacIntosh, Thorburn; Christine (Randy) Crow, Truro; sons, Billy, Thorburn; John (Tammy), Central Caribou; sisters, Adeline Latter, New Glasgow; Eleanor Darroch, Stellarton; Jean (Jerry) O’Connor, Anderson’s Mountain; Lillian (Hugh) Graham, West Branch; Gloria Clyburn, Plymouth; brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Wallace, Donald (Una) Wallace, Thorburn; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Grant; brother, Frank Wallace; brothers-in-law, Ron Clyburn, James Darroch.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb.18th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb.19th with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Thorburn Cemetery.
