Obituary of Sheila Forbes Theriault
NEW GLASGOW – Sheila Forbes Theriault, 68, New Glasgow, passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2010, surrounded by her family, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of John William Fraser, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou and the late Johanna Mae (Forbes) Fraser. Prior to retirement, Sheila was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 27 years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Salt Springs and was a 27-year Associate Member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 16, Pictou. Sheila was an avid gardener and cherished the moments she spent with her grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Surviving besides her father, John, are her loving husband, Jean Paul Theriault; sons, John Rae, Truro; Terrance “Terry” (Dianne) Rae, Watervale; James (Gwen) Rae, New Glasgow; sister, Sylvia Barkhouse, Pictou; grandchildren, Tara (Russell), Anna (Michael), Carla, Michael and Jessica; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford Rae; second husband, Arden Smith; brother, James Fraser.
There will be no visitation or service at Sheila’s request.
Donations may be made in Sheila’s memory to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit or VON Pictou County.
