Obituary of Harriet Elizabeth Drapeau
NEW GLASGOW – Harriet Elizabeth “Betty” (Mann) Drapeau, 84, New Glasgow, formerly of Linacy, passed away, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at home.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late George Redmond and Harriet May Viola (Ashe) Luddington. Betty was a member of the former Calvary Temple Church and an adherent of Maranatha Bible Church, New Glasgow. Betty enjoyed knitting, gardening and was known for her quick wit, humour and easy-going manner. She was an adventurous soul who enjoyed traveling. In her late 70’s, Betty fearlessly ziplined and recently flew in a helicopter with her daughter and granddaughter, NiKia. She enjoyed her many trips to Ontario to visit her daughters and grandson, Sam. Although saddened by her passing, her family through faith believe, for Betty, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are daughters, Beth McIsaac, Hamilton, Ont.; Jessie (Vince) Benincasa, Mississauga, Ont.; Edie Mann, Linacy; son, Allister (Nicole) Mann, Stoney Plain, Alta.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Michael) Beaulieu, Paisley, Ont.; Violet (Leo) Crawly, Trenton; brother, Francis (Phyllis) Creelman, Musquodoboit; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William “Bill” Mann; second husband, Nöel Drapeau; granddaughter, Jennifer; brothers, Spencer, Gerald, William and Henry.
In honour of Betty her family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, it was Betty’s wish that her family and friends preform “random acts of kindness” in her memory.
