I'm so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. I first met him when I was around 12. He was operating a Traxcavator that summer at the site of the Trenton Park (when they were developing the new ponds). I believe it was his summer job. I used to watch him work for hours at a time. He would let me sit on the arm rest beside him as he operated the machine and I thought I was in heaven. That interest led me to become a civil engineer, which in turn led me to work on many large, exciting projects in over 20 countries around the world. I will always remember the interest "Nicky" showed in me at that time (as shy as I was) and his help in furthering my interest in the construction industry. I lost touch with him after he graduated from East Pictou (I was just entering EPRH as he graduated) but I never forgot him. My sincere condolences to the family.

My family knew Nick when he and his young wife moved to the Musquodoboit Valley when Nick worked for Scott Paper as a Woodlands Supervisor. Our recently deceased father Carl was a contractor for Scott Paper and he respected Nick for his mature and positive approach to his work. They would often cruise timber and both enjoyed this time together. I met Nick recently when he returned home from one of his trips and he asked about Dad and he was his same old self, a very caring and genuinely good person to know and he is so appreciated by our family.

Linda, Jason, Dale and Blair.... I have many memories of Nick mostly all from our work back in the Scott days. During that time he taught me many things from his experience and I had a great respect for his opinion. We accomplished a lot of work and had a good time doing it. During our travels together in the half ton he often spoke about you and how proud he was of your accomplishments. It has been a real pleasure to have know Nick and you his family and the rest of the Williams clan. It is a darn shame he has left us way too soon but his legacy will live with us forever. It was a pleasure to see you at the visitation. Our sincere condolences Barry And Bethe Yuill

Our heartfelt condolences to Linda, Dale, Jason and Blair for Nicky's passing. Nicky was a life long friend and someone I looked up to my entire life since high school. He was humble, understated and a great role model on how to live, work and raise a family. I had also had the pleasure of working on his Woodlands crew as a summer student living and travelling to Advocate Harbour, Meaghers Grant and Glenholme. Nicky was the best boss I ever worked for. He made leadership look easy. Great memories of that summer. Nick would always take the time to drop in for a visit when he came to Ontario to visit Dale and family. Lynn and I will miss those visits and his great stories. Nick loved music and was always up for a good tune. If I know Nicky he is probably organizing a card game with friends up there and like always telling stories and making great music! Here is to one of the good guys!

I have known Nick for 45 years. He was a true friend to myself and everyone that knew him. He was so proud of his doctor sons Dale, Jason and Blair, his family all his dogs past and present and most important his loving wife Linda. Nick could relate to anyone be it the Premier of the Province the persons heading, a large National company or someone working in the forestry industry they were all Nick's friends. When it came to the game of scrabble Nick and Linda came up with words that left me impressed! Nick was so happy turning logs into lumber and managing his wood lot. Nick will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Linda, Dale, Blair, Jason, Noonie and families thinking of you during this difficult time. Regards Jim
