Obituary of Margaret Ann Watters

MACLELLANS BROOK – Margaret Ann “Margie” Watters, 72, MacLellans Brook, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on MacLellan’s Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Elizabeth (Snow) Smith. Prior to retirement, Margie had been employed with Sobeys and with several other businesses throughout her life. She was a faithful soldier with The Salvation Army Westville Corps for many years. Margie spent many years mentoring young people through the Girl Guides of Canada, as a Sunday school teacher/superintendent and Bible study leader. She was a member of the AMS and Women’s Ministries, and was active with the local Ukulele group, Cursillo and enjoyed line dancing. Margie possessed an enduring faith in her Lord and celebrates this Christmas with her Saviour. Surviving are her daughter, Sally (John) Strutynski, Pictou; sons, John (Janice) Watters, Pictou; Everett (Mary) Watters, Alma; grandsons, Everett, Ricky, Stephen, Christopher and John; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; sisters, Lottie (Francis) Flavin, Mississauga, Ont.; Elda (Clarence) Watters, Riverton; brothers, Everett Smith (Diane), Brookville; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith (John), Alma; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John George; son, Howard; granddaughter, Nissim; sisters, Rena Bell and Kay; brothers, Vernon and Huntley. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 with Captains Neil and Dolores Abbott officiating.
