LINACY – Reta Florence Gordon, 87, Linacy, peacefully went to be with her Lord, Friday, December 8, 2017, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Clara (Whitman) Gratto. Reta was a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church, New Glasgow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Reta’s legacy is her persistent faith in an unfailing Saviour, she was not shy to share her faith. Surviving are son, Fred (Beverly) Gordon, Dartmouth; daughters, Ella Spaulding-MacLean, Stellarton; Mary (Freeman) Hodgins, Manteca, Calif.; grandchildren, Ondra (Paul) DeJager, Jamie (Tanya) Spaulding, Gordie (Alice) Spaulding, Patrick (Ashley) Spaulding, Reuben (Lori) Hodgins, Rebecca (Troyer) Sybrant; great-grandchildren, Olivia DeJager, Emma, Aiden, Bailey, Jeremy, Josh, Caleb, Noah and Kendell Spaulding, Zane and Ella Sybrant, Xander and Xavier Hodgins. Besides her parents, Reta was predeceased by her husband, Pat; sisters, Edna Misener, Esther Lamb, Helen Worth, Evelyn Jeans; brothers, Clair, Aubrey and Fred. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 in Maranatha Bible Church with Fred Gordon and Pastor Jerry Stearns officiating with Paul DeJager leading the hymns.
