Obituary of Howard Edwin Oliver Lewis

NEW GLASGOW – Howard Edwin Oliver “Howie” Lewis, 75, Pine Street, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late David Harold and Agnes Dunlop Craig (Davie) Lewis. He had retired from Chignecto Regional School Board where he was a Janitor for 38 years. He was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. Howie enjoyed traveling, animals, reading and fiddle music. He loved his family. Surviving are his sister, Janet (John) Stewart, Anderson’s Mountain; brother, Maxwell “Max” (Eileen), Trenton; niece, Agnes; nephews, Howard Jr. and John Jr.; grand nieces, grandnephews, companion animals Angel and Tiger. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Howard’s memory to the Pictou County SPCA.
