Obituary of Harold Boyd Ottar
TRENTON – Harold Boyd Ottar, 94, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Trenton, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Manor.
Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late John William and Mary Campbell (MacKeil) Ottar. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He had been a welder at the former Trenton Works and a welding instructor with the Pictou Regional Vocational School. He was a member of First United Church, Trenton and The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow.
Surviving are daughter, Carol Ann (Parker) MacLean, Trenton; son, Wayne S. (Kathy), Trenton; daughter-in-law, Michele (Wes) Bateman, Wainwright, Alta.; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Verna (Lambly); son, Aubrey H.; grandson, Aaron MacLean; brother, Ernest Martin and sister, Mary MacDonald.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. J. Kenneth MacLeod officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
