Obituary of Frank Wallace Grant
THORBURN /CALGARY, ALTA. – Frank Wallace Grant, 50, Calgary, Alta., formerly of Thorburn, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James Hector and Mary Elizabeth (Wallace) Grant. Frank was employed with Doby Communications, Calgary. He was a “backyard mechanic” who enjoyed repairing cars. Frank was a friend to many and enjoyed having a beer in the pub with his buddies after work. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Surviving are sisters, Betty, Little Egypt Road; Isabel (Lonny) Rask, Whitecourt, Alta.; Shirley (Buddy) Savoie, Lower Barney’s River; Katherine (John) Grasse, Geary, N.B.; Joyce Murray (Andrew), Trenton; brothers, Jim (Sharon), Tom (Louise), Calgary; Donald (Cathy), Sutherland’s River; nieces, Vanda, Gwen, Krista-Lee, Allison, Amanda, Alisha, Kaitlyn, Savannah; nephews, Joey, Derrick, Aaron, Daniel, Jamie; grandnephews, Hayden Stewart, Hayden Tremblay; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, James; mother, Mary; sister, Donna; brother, Joseph in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Ann’s Cemetery Fund.
