Obituary of Hibbert Junior Rector
PINE TREE – Hibbert Junior “Hibbie” Rector, 72, Pine Tree, passed away suddenly, Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Pine Tree, he was a son of the late Alex and Mary Rector. Hibbie had been employed with the Department of Transportation as a mechanic for 25 years. He was a very creative person, who spent many hours in his shop building equipment. Hibbie enjoyed working, dancing and helping others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Emily (Silver); daughter, Doreen Rector (Kenny Stewart), Greenwood; grandchildren, Ryan and Carla; sisters, Laura Fraser, Truro; Mary (Harold) Brewer and Florence MacAulay, Pine Tree; Barb (Bob) Beaton, New Glasgow; brothers, John (Diane) Rector and Jimmy (Millie) Rector, Pine Tree; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ruebin; brother, King; brothers-in-law, Donnie Fraser and Roddie MacAulay.
In keeping with Hibbie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Donations may be made in Hibbie’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
