Obituary of Robert James Fraser

FRASER’S MOUNTAIN – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Robert James “Bob” Fraser, 67, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow with his family by his side. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Jennie Mary (Kehoe) Fraser, Valley View Villa, Riverton and the late Robert Newell Fraser. Bob had been employed with the CNR, the Chignecto Regional School Board and was a driver of the Special Needs bus for the last number of years. He was an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow and a former member of the Board of Managers. Surviving are his wife, Edna (Sinclair); daughter, Darla Ann (Kevin) Dooley and grandsons, Brandon and Jeremy, Westville; son, Robert (Robin) and grandchildren, Evan, Erin, Abercrombie, and Alex (Michelle), and their son, Xander, Westville; son, Blair (Erin) and grandchildren, Wyatt and Katie, Westville; sister, Shirley (Carter) VanIderstine, Murray River, PEI; several aunts; an uncle; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan’s Brook. Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to First Presbyterian Church, 208 MacLean Street, New Glasgow, NS B2H 4M9, Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the ALS Society.
