Obituary of Jean Viola Carver
NEW GLASGOW - Jean Viola Carver, 82, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Whitehead, she was a daughter of the late John Herbert and Myrtle Nina (Munroe) Phalen. Jean enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, baking, cooking and spending time with her little dog, Sasha. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Surviving are her daughters, Valerie Jean (Bill) MacLean, Little Harbour Road; Judy Carver, New Glasgow; Elaine (Donald) Beach, Brookdale; son, Maurice “Moe” (Pam), Dunville, Ont.; sisters, Glenda MacIntosh, (Eldie Ross), Chance Harbour; Elaine Smith, Pictou Landing; Colleen (Lux) MacDonald, Trenton; Isabel (Jimmy) Asprey, Big Island; Lillian (Mick) O’Hearn, Halifax; brothers, Fred (Carol), Trenton; Russell (Priscilla), Spring Hill; Cyril (Jill), Sarnia, Ont.; Jack (Edith), Halifax; Barry (Shirley), Merigomish; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; sisters, Nora and Florence; a son in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday in Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barneys River with Pastor Alan Klein officiating.
