Obituary of Rodney Peter MacKenzie

SCOTSBURN – Rodney Peter “Roddy” MacKenzie, 55, Scotsburn, passed away suddenly, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Douglas William MacKenzie. Roddy was employed with Michelin Tire for the past 22 years. He was a member of the Pictou County Injured Workers Association. Roddy took great pride in his home and property, and had a gifted passion for carpentry. His family was extremely important to him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Surviving are his wife and best friend, Karen; daughters, Lori (Brian) and Amanda (Eddie); sons, Roddy (Sarah), Jamie (Desiree), Marc (April) and Blake (Brittany); sister, Alice; brother, Mike (Cindy); numerous grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, Douglas, he was predeceased by sister, Janie. In keeping with Roddy’s wishes a private funeral service will be held. Family flowers only.
