Obituary of Peter Rodney MacKenzie
TRENTON – Peter Rodney MacKenzie, Jr., 46, Trenton and Edmonton, Alta., passed away suddenly, Monday, May 28, 2012 in Edmonton.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Mary Alice (Barnette) MacKenzie, Westville and the late Peter Rodney “Mickey” MacKenzie, Sr. He was a member of Millwright Local 1178 and transferred to Millwright Local 1460 Alberta several years ago. Rodney was an adherent of Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow. In earlier years, he played hockey and figure skated. Rodney enjoyed restoring cars, racing and socializing with his friends. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and nephew, who will be deeply missed by his family.
Surviving are his daughters, Bryanna MacPherson, Stellarton; Martina and Kayla Sheehan, Ontario; sister, Heather (Brad) MacLean, Riverton; brother, Matthew MacKenzie (Shauna Greene), Trenton; nieces, Chantelle and Kola; nephew, Travis; several aunts and uncles; many cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Peter “Mickey” MacKenzie, Sr.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 3rd in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 4th with Rev. Bruce Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
