Obituary of Lloyd Keith Fancy
LITTLE EGYPT – Lloyd Keith Fancy, 59, Little Egypt, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 due to a workplace accident.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Katherine Eleanor (Johnston) Fancy, Trenton and the late Keith Samuel Fancy. He was a member of First United Church, Trenton. Lloyd was employed as superintendent with Maritime Steel, New Glasgow and previously had been supervisor at Trenton Works for over 35 years. He possessed an excellent work ethic and took great pride in providing for his family. Lloyd dedicated his life to mentoring the foster children that he and Jeannie welcomed into their family. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who freely gave of himself to help others.
Besides his mother, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Jeannie Darlene Fancy; son and best friend, Travis Lloyd Keith Fancy (Karen Mills), Trenton; daughters, Connie (Shaun) Taylor and their children, Brittany and Alyssa, Trenton; Alesha (Cpl. David) Simpson, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Nfld.; Sonya Fancy (Colin McNaughton), Halifax; Shauna Fancy, Trenton; sisters, Marguerite Lewis, Ont.; Isabel Ross, Trenton; Marlene (David) Rebuck, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Keith; sisters, Eleanor Fancy and Mildred Dunn; nephew, Shane Dunn.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28th in the chapel with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
