Obituary of Ann Ethel Cormie

NEW GLASGOW – Ann Ethel Cormie, 88, New Glasgow, formerly of Truro, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Black Point, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Jessie Loretta (Wilson) Reid. She resided in Truro for the past 27 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and was an excellent baker. Surviving are her son, Vaughn Cormie, Kirkland Lake, Ont.; grandson, Michael Cormie, Halifax; sisters, Willena Martin, New Glasgow; Jean (Jack) Morrison, Kimberly, B.C.; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roderick J. MacDonald; son, Roderick, in infancy; second husband, J. Herb Cormie; sister, Margaret McGee; brothers, James, George and Morton. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 24th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 25th in the chapel with Rev. David R. Lutes officiating. Interment will be in Watson Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or Brunswick Street United Church, Truro.
