Obituary and Thank You
Thank you. Two words that seem impossibly small when I think of everything my mother’s amazing community has done for me, Popcorn, and our family over the past month.
Her laughter has lived on in the stories you’ve told me; her kindness in your eyes as you comfort me; and her complete, unabashed love of life in all the time we’ve spent together.
What do I say when people ask me what it's like to be from Pictou County? My answer has always been about my mother and how she made this life magical, safe, and loving for me. Now, it will be about her legacy and you. Nothing tops the love I have felt from every one of you.
Thank you. Two words that seem impossibly small when I think of you all, but also the only words that fit.
Thank you, for bringing her back to me in so many ways.
With love, Andrea's daughter, Rachel
“The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again.” ~Charles Dickens
Andrea Faye MacLeod, (1955- March 27, 2022 New Glasgow), lead a life that was over the top, unique, and remarkable, just like her.
Andrea was a wonderful mother, wife, friend, sister, aunt, and daughter, bringing a gale force of love to her family, friends, and grand fur-baby.
Known for her career at Scotiabank, her infamous May 1st song (IYKYK), and her dedication to supporting the people and community she called home, she will be missed dearly and remembered often.
When you think of her, think of the times she called you on a hard day, sent you a thoughtful note, made you smile despite yourself, or made you laugh so hard your stomach hurt. Think of her as the life of the party, the one you could always count on, and one of the most extraordinary cheerleaders for joy anyone could ask for.
She was most proud of her family (fur-baby included) and the life she built with them. As she approached the gates of heaven, a motley crew of beloved and cherished family and friends welcomed her home.
