Obituary of Viola Gertrude Grant

LINACY – Viola Gertrude “Vi” Grant, 88, Linacy, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.

 

Born in Monastery, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Margaret (MacDonald) Bowman.  Vi enjoyed gardening, playing cards (45’s), dancing and baking.  She enjoyed the companionship of her feline friends, especially, Charlie, to whom she nightly sang “My Darling Clementine”. Vi was a private lady who possessed a quick wit and a “heart of gold”. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by those she loved.

 

Surviving are her daughters, Jean Grant, New Glasgow; Valerie Grant, New Glasgow; granddaughters, Natasha Hafey (Jenn), Truro and Alisha Hafey, New Glasgow; former sons-in-law, Ernie Hafey and Leonard Gerrior.

 

She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Renie; sisters, Eileen Williams and Martha MacEachern; brothers, Johnny Bowman and Francis Bowman.

 

In honour of Vi’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
