Obituary of Geraldine Marie Walker

NEW GLASGOW – Geraldine Marie Walker, 72, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret Christine (MacNeil) Walker. She possessed great faith in her Lord and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton. Geraldine was employed with Walbar, Ontario for many years. She enjoyed reading, sightseeing, and exploring old churches. Geraldine was a humble, loving and faithful lady who possessed the ability to recall vast amounts of information. For Geraldine, “life has changed; not ended!”

 

Surviving are her son, Darren Walker, Ontario; sisters, Anne Pannella, North York, Ont.; Sandi Gognacvic, Mississauga, Ont.; Theresa Rocca, New Glasgow; brothers, Neil (Janet) Walker, Lower Sackville; Donald Walker, Trenton; several nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Catherine MacGregor and Mary Langille; brother, Alex Walker.

 

In honour of Geraldine’s wishes a private graveside service will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Father Thomas A. MacNeil  presiding.

 

Donations may be made in Geraldine’s memory to Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit Endowment.

 

   “Eternal rest grant unto Geraldine O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon her.

May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed,

Through the mercy of God,
