Obituary of Patricia Irene McKinnon

Patricia “Pat” Irene “Whitey” McKinnon, 80, Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou, formerly of Stellarton and MacLellan’s Brook, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

  

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Murdock and Love (Malloy) MacEwan. Prior to retirement, Pat was a teller at the Royal Bank in Stellarton. She loved playing bingo (B 10 was “her” number) and singing along with anybody who brought a guitar. Pat was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kindness and warmth left an impression on everyone who met her.

  

Surviving are her son, Jim, Kentville; her daughter, Angela (Greg), Newfoundland; grandchildren J.J. (Chelsea), Jamie (Kass), Saquoia (Christian), Jordan (Amy), Tony (Rias); great-grandchildren, Grayson, Wesley and Jaina; daughters-in-law, Janet and Jeannie; brothers-in-law, Ian and Timmy; sisters-in-law, Teresa and Mary. She was well-loved by many nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by husband James Francis “Jim”; son, John; brothers, Louie and Shelly; sisters, Dokie, Chickie, Teena,  Edna, and Betty in infancy; brothers-in-law, Tony and Johnny; sister-in-law, Angela.

 

Special thanks to Dr. Spencer Barclay for his care, and special thanks from the entire family to her “sister” Teresa (and Stewart) for all they did for Pat in her final years.

 

Private interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Stellarton.
