Obituary of Peter Aloysius MacDonald

ARDNESS – Peter Aloysius MacDonald, 69, Ardness, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 11, 2022, while napping in his favourite chair.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Anthony Lawrence and Elizabeth MacDonald. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lismore.  Peter was a Red Seal carpenter with Ardness Construction for many years. A career he thoroughly enjoyed and never really ended. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  For Peter, “Life has changed; not ended!”

Surviving are his wife, Marion; daughter, Kaitlyn, Lismore; sons, Josh (Carlena), Egerton; Matthew (Melissa), Timmins, Ont.; grandchildren; Evan, Isla, Westley, Rachel and Charlotte; sisters, Shirley (Francis) MacMillan, Trenton; Debby (James) Mahoney, Ardness; Joyce (Neil) MacGillivray, Brierly Brook; brothers, Larry, Ardness; John (Jo-Ann), Ardness; Brad (Wendy), New Glasgow; Edgar (Marion), Ashdale; Louie (Grace), Ardness; sister-in-law, Claire MacDonald, Egerton; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Mary J. MacPherson; brother, Jerome; sister-in-law, Cecilia Ann MacDonald; brother-in-law, David MacPherson, Arisaig.

In keeping with Peter’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
