Obituary of Ralph George Arbuckle
GREENHILL – Ralph George Arbuckle, 78, Greenhill, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surround by the love of his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Alfred James and Wilma Margaret (Fisher) Arbuckle. He was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton where he served on the board of Trustees for several years. Ralph was a carpenter and operated ARB contractors for many years. He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, never missing a game on TV. Ralph enjoyed Blue Grass music and playing the guitar. He possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong work ethic. Ralph was a kind and caring gentleman who was well respected in the community. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving are sons, Alan (Lizon) Arbuckle, Wolfville; Kevin Arbuckle, Cambridge, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Tracy Arbuckle, Cambridge; grandchildren, Nia, Niobe, Kayden, and Jaylee; sisters-in-law, Myrna MacLeod, New Glasgow; Edith Davis, Westville; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Winnifred Muriel “Winnie” (Davis); sisters, June Calkins, and Pauline Brooks; brother, Fred Arbuckle; sister-in-law, Margaret Arbuckle; brothers-in-law, Dave Calkins and Bill Brooks.
The family will receive visitors 2 - 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, September 27 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Private interment will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to the Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Endowment or Canadian Cancer Society.
