Obituary of Margaret Catherine Forsyth
NEW GLASGOW - Margaret Catherine "Kay" Forsyth, 100, New Glasgow, formerly of Thorburn passed away, Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Kenzieville on June 7, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Allan and Doleva (Ross) Cameron. Prior to retirement, Kay had been employed as a cook with the former Westside Drive-In and with the Aberdeen Hospital in the housekeeping department. She and her late husband, Jock had been foster parents for many years. Kay enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bead work, gardening, baking, and cooking. She was an avid Bingo player, making many weekend trips into her 80’s to Port Hood to play. Kay enjoyed countless trips to Bangor, Maine, her last at the age of 93. At the age of 92, she purchased an IPad and used it each day until a month before her passing. Kay as a selfless, kind and caring lady who will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Surviving are daughters, Betty Clyburn, Pictou; Lynn (Doug) Cooley, Thorburn; Janice (Sandy) Harris, Port Hawkesbury; sons, Allan (Ferne), Riverton; Stuart "Bob" (Karen), Lethbridge, Alta.; Scott (Edith), New Glasgow; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John W. "Jock" Forsyth; son, Douglas (Roma) Forsyth; son-in-law, Wayne Clyburn; sister, Sarah MacIvor; sister-in-law, Margaret (George) Robson.
A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Thorburn Cemetery with Mr. John Reeves officiating.
The Forsyth family wish to thank the Glen Manor Crystal Waters and Silver Creek staff for the wonderful care and support received.
