Special thanks to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Team, especially, Amy and Elizabeth, for their professionalism and compassion towards mom and us. We appreciate all those who gathered with us to celebrate mom’s life and to Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson for his words of comfort.
GREENWOOD - Sadie Frances Stewart, 94, Greenwood, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 17, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in French River, she was a daughter of the late Charles MacIntosh and Alfreda Mae (Hall) Browning. In earlier years Sadie was employed as a cashier with Sobeys, IGA and Safe Way. Following, she and her husband, Bob, operated Stewart’s Store in Greenwood and Thorburn. She enjoyed searching for “treasures” at auctions and yard sales. Sadie’s life was her family, always seeking the best for them. She leaves a rich legacy of love and devotion.
Surviving are her son, Barry (Judy) Stewart, Greenwood; daughter, Shari Stewart (Keir), Westville; brother, Wayne Browning, London, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Doris Stewart, Lincoln, N.B.; son-in-law, Vincent MacDonald, Greenwood; grandchildren; Angie (Rodney), Amber, Allie (Derek), Jay (Aleisha), Jennifer, Robert (Janice) and Jason (Brenda); great-grandchildren, Jamie, Dawson, Mia, Ethan, Robert, Breanna, Alex, Lilly, Mitchell and Sierra; great, great-granddaughter, Aubree; “like a son”, Donald (Hazel) Chisholm, “like a granddaughter”, Catherine; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Vernon Stewart; daughter, Wanda MacDonald; son, Brian Stewart; grandson-in-law, Dale Johnston.
A private graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
