Obituary of Christopher Dwight Taylor

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

STELLARTON – Christopher Dwight “Chris” Taylor, 51, Stellarton, formerly of Barney’s River, Antigonish and New Glasgow, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Karen (Logan) Furois and the late Allan Edward Taylor. Chris was employed with Swallow’s Service Center, Thorburn as an automotive mechanic, having previously been employed with Bob Allen’s Auto Sales, New Glasgow, Suncor and Thompson Bros., Fort McMurray, Alta., and several other companies during his 30-year career. He thoroughly loved his career as a mechanic and always took great pride in his work. Chris was a loyal Toronto Maple Leaf fan, to the extent that he had “win, lose or tie, a Toronto Maple Leaf fan until I die” tattooed on his arm. He loved the companionship of his cat, Cheeko and dog, Coors, who went everywhere with him and Maria. Chris loved his family and friends dearly and had a “heart of gold”, like no other.  He shared a deep bond with his sister Amanda and his uncle Calvie. Chris leaves a rich legacy of love, devotion, dedication, and determination to succeed. Chris and his fiancé, Maria, were best friends and ignited a love that will last forever – “against all odds, honey we’re the big door prize”.

Surviving are his fiancé, Maria White;  mother, Karen Furois, New Glasgow; stepmother, Deanna Taylor-Connors (Eddie Connors), Scotsburn Road; children, Patrick, Candace, Sara and Ryan; mother of his children, Suzanne Taylor, Antigonish; grandchildren, Lileigh, Nicholas, Ella, Cooper and Benjamin; sisters, Shannon (Brud) Mahaffey, New Glasgow; Amanda Taylor-Carr (Adam Carr), New Glasgow; Brooke Taylor (Brandon Heighton), Pictou; brother, Mitchel MacDonald (Taylor Vaincourt), Scotch Hill; aunts and uncles, Calvin (Irene) Logan, Thorburn; David (Patricia) Logan, Westville; Tish (Dennis) Cameron, Trenton; Gary (Valerie) Taylor, Stellarton; Carolyn Taylor, Trenton; Debbie (Harvey) Lochead, Scotch Hill;  nieces and nephews, Morgan, Aria, Kai and Brodie; many cousins; numerous friends.

Besides his father, Allan, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Rena (O’Donnell) Logan; paternal grandparents, Graham and Margaret Taylor; cousin, Jennifer Logan.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 28 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 29 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
