Obituary of Louella Jean Pitts
CHANCE HARBOUR – Louella Jean Pitts, 78, Chance Harbour, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Aubrey and Edna Catherine Pearle (Gratto) Misener. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow, where she and her late husband, Lewie, played in the mixed dart league. Louella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who lived for her family.
Surviving are daughter, Jean Ann Pitts (Terry), Chance Harbour; sons, Lewis H. Pitts (Mary Pearl Walsh), Hillside; Mark A. (Sandy) Pitts, Gananoque, Ont.; granddaughter, Kelsey Snyder (Brian) and Magan Grant (Alan); great-grandchildren, Jayden, Amelia and Grayson; sisters, Jessie Carrick, Lansdowne; Margaret (William) MacDonald, Sutherland’s River; Judy (Leonard) Smith, Linacy; Linda (Monty) MacDougall, Donna Cameron (Gordie MacKinnon), Elsie (David) Finney, Trenton; Heather McKeough, New Glasgow; brothers, Howard (Donna) Misener, River John; James (Joanne) Misener, Halifax; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lewis Herbert Pitts; brothers, Charles, Andrew and two in infancy; brothers-in-law, Bernard McKeough and Kent Carrick.
In honour of Louella’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
