Sharon was born on July 4, 1937, to Eldon and Kate Brown of Horseheads, New York. She was the youngest of five, sister to Donald, Clayton, Robert and Nadine. She had a happy childhood and was queen of the junior prom before marrying at the young age of 17.

When she was 50 years old, she married David Livingstone of New Glasgow, and her family grew to include four more children: Dana, Velda, Edwina (Wina), and David (Davey). Together they had many sons- and daughters-in-law and grandchildren and great grandchildren, and Sharon loved them all. She had many friends as well, her deepest and longest-lasting friendships being with Carol Caforio and Marilyn Krause.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Donald, Clayton and Robert.
