Obituary of Millie Snell

Mildred Frances “Millie” (Kelly) Snell, 62, Westville, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.

Millie was born on March 8, 1960 in New Glasgow, a daughter of the late Edward Allison and Mildred Rose (Irving) Kelly. Millie dedicated her life to raising her three daughters and supporting her husband, Terry.  She loved to listen to her husband play guitar and enjoyed singing along at family BBQ’s and birthday parties.  Millie could always be counted on to have a “good shoulder” to cry on, a willingness to listen and provide excellent advice. She shared a love of NASCAR racing with her husband and grandsons, never missing a Sunday race. Millie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. For the past 22 years, Millie, fought a courageous battle with cancer, never giving up, showing her family the meaning of brave, determination, love and devotion.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, Terry, with whom she shared the past 42 years, daughters, Erica Snell (Nathan Marshall), Whitehill; Teresa (Tom) Hilton, Westville; Joanne (Brad) Rotchford, Westville; adored grandchildren, Kelsey, Clayton, Harmony, Monica, Scott, James, Chloe and Eric; great-grandson, Reign; “like grandchildren”, Ashton, Harley and Lacey; sister, Glenda Hynes, Trenton; brother, Jimmy (Darlene) Kelly, Trenton; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Patricia; brothers, Allison, Douglas and Ronald; brother-in-law, Robert Hynes; “like a daughter”, Kathy Davidson.
