Obituary of Marlene Facey McKee
Marlene Facey McKee, 85, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Pictou Landing, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the Villa, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John Willis and Marjorie Elizabeth (Muirhead) Chaulk. Prior to retirement Marlene was employed as a clerk with Canada Post, New Glasgow. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and camping. Marlene was involved in her community over the years, volunteering with St. John Ambulance and her church. Marlene was an associate member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Blue Knights. She was a resilient, tenacious, and independent woman who lived life “her way”.
Surviving are her daughters, Lori Perkins, Halifax; Debbie McKee, Westville; sons, John “Jack” (Deana) McKee, Shelburne; Rod (Marilyn) McKee, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Steve, Sandy, Michelle, Cindy, Dylan, Riley, Chantelle, Katelyn, Cris, Sean and Rebecca; many great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Ann (Ross) Campbell, Ontario and Elva Brownell, Michigan; brother, Gerald “Gerry” Chaulk, Moncton; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by infant twin sister, Doreen; sister-in-law, Frances.
Marlene’s family wish to thank the Valley View Villa staff for the excellent care she received.
In keeping with Marlene’s wishes, her family honour her life privately.
