Obituary of Douglas Raymond Tibbo
Douglas Raymond Tibbo, 86, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Merigomish, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 12, 2023, in the Manor.
Born on July 14, 1936, in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Neil and Mary (Emmons) Tibbo. In younger years, Douglas was a truck driver and known as “Razor Blade” to his CB friends. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to Classic Country.
Surviving are daughters, Eileen Tibbo-McCarron (Blaine), Trenton; Debbie Tibbo (Allister), Abercrombie/Toronto, Ont.; Lillian Tibbo-MacDonald (Mike), Linacy; Sheila Tibbo, Toronto; Diane Tibbo (Adam), Linacy; granddaughter, Crystal Tibbo, Abercrombie; sisters, Genesta Hushard, Toronto, Ont.; Edith Tibbo, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Rina Arsenault, Viola Bastarache, Lorraine Cormier, Alberta Cormier, Edmée Cormier, Rose Poirier (Gérald) and Delma Maillet; brothers-in-law, Lionel (Thérèse) Cormier, Edouard (Rita) Cormier, Normand Cormier; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ronalda Marie (Cormier); sisters, Garnet David, and Eileen Tibbo; brother, Basil, Gordon and Neil.
Interment will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Port Felix, Guysborough County.
If desired, donations may be made in memory of Douglas to the Glen Haven Manor Family Council or programming for residents.
