Obituary of Clarence Edward Watters
Clarence Edward Watters, 61, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 14, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow with his family by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Elda Francis (Smith) Watters, Coalburn and the late Clarence Edward Watters. Clarence began his career as a chef at the age of 16 in Saskatoon, Sask., a career he greatly enjoyed throughout his life. He also worked construction for many years when he returned home to Nova Scotia. Clarence had a wonderful sense of humour and the ability to make people laugh. He enjoyed camping and family gatherings and the ability to share his very impressive BBQ skills. His fur buddies, Stanley and Tally were constantly at his side. Above all Clarence loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his mother, Elda, are his wife, Ellen McCulloch; children, Craig, Aurora, Ashley and Amanda; step-sons, Jamie (Sherry) and Bernard (Kelly); granddaughters, Lucy, Kinley, Natalie; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Scott and Samantha; step-great-grandson, Wesley; sisters, Linda (Alan) Auld, MacPhersons Mills; Carol Ann (Theodore) Greene, Coalburn; brother, Toney (Bonnie) Watters, Stellarton; aunts, Lottie Flavin, Sharon Smith (John) and Ruth (Colin) McGarrigle; uncles, Everett Smith and Roddy (Linda) Watters; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Clarence, he was predeceased by aunts, Rena Bell, Kay, Margie, Diane, Linda and Barbara; uncles, Vernon, Huntley, Francis, Harry, John and Billy; cousins, Howard, John, Sally and Charlotte.
In keeping with Clarence’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
Donations may be made in memory of Clarence to the The Salvation Army Westville Corps or Canadian Cancer Society.
