Obituary of Justin Evan Turple

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Justin Evan Turple at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by loved ones on August 17, 2023 at the age of 25.

He leaves behind his mother, Cherie Lange (Pete); father, Lenny Turple (Cynthia); older sister, Julia Lange (Morgan); younger sister, Grace Turple and brother, Matt Grace. He will be greatly missed by his maternal grandparents, "Ma and Pa" Dorothy and Robert Lange, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Darlene McIntosh and Johnny Turple, as well as special paternal great-grandparents, Joseph and Gladys McIntosh.

Justin was born on March 19, 1998, at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, but spent some of his early childhood years in High River, Alberta where he would enjoy travelling to Calgary to go to amusement parks and the Calgary Zoo. Justin later returned to Nova Scotia where he would graduate from Northumberland Regional High School in Alma. Justin would spend his spare time playing video games, losing to his Ma at cards, going to the beach, taking special family trips to Magic Mountain, and hanging out with friends.

Justin was a gentle giant, standing at 6’8. He had a huge heart and loved everyone. He would do anything for his siblings, enjoyed the little things in life, and would drink a warm beer with a smile on his face. Justin had a great love for animals, the Boston Bruins, video games, and had a special ear for music. Justin’s love for video games has brought him many good friends through the years, and our family would like to acknowledge all of those who may be missing him.

There will be no visitation taking place, but a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to a mental health organization of your choosing.
