Obituary of Ruth Ann Moorehead

Ruth Ann Moorehead, 79, New Glasgow, formerly of Kitchener, Ont. and Surrey, B.C., passed away Monday, September 11, 2023.

Born in Crossen an de Elster, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Hanna Bergmann. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, never missing an event. She was an avid reader, especially crime novels.  Ruth possessed a kind spirit always seeking to help those in need. She volunteered at several soup kitchens and clothing shops that were designed to help the less fortunate.  Ruth and her dog, Patches, enjoyed play time and cuddling.  She was a resilient lady who took the best from every situation and making those around her laugh. Through out her life, Ruth was her families rock, and leaves an example for them to follow. She was dearly loved by her family and her memory will be cherished for a lifetime.

Surviving are daughters, Christine Brocklebank, Kitchener, Ont.; Donna Moorehead, Windsor, Ont.; Margaret Moorehead (Mark), White Rock, B.C.; son, Mike Moorehead, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Frank Jr., James, Lisa, Kenneth, Jessica, Natalie, Nicole, Katie, Brady and Vicki; great-grandchildren, Chase, Scarlett, Kaylee, Marshall, Riley, Alyssa, Liam, Noah, Allie and Bailey; brother, Horst Bergmann, Kitchener, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Jackie Stewart, Westville; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son in infancy; sisters, Helga and Giesela; brother, Heinz; son-in-law, Frank Brocklebank.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
