Obituary of Gordon Freeman Kellock

GLENFALLOCH, TRENTON – Gordon Freeman Kellock, 91, Glenfalloch, Trenton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with family by his side.

Born in Plymouth Park on August 20, 1932, he was a son of the late Earl Clifford and Margaret Catherine (MacKenzie) Kellock.

Dad began his career with the CNR at the age of 16, starting a career that spanned 40+ years. Upon retirement, he devoted his time to his gardens and his expansive lawn. He also developed a family calendar, gathering birthdates and anniversaries – a document shared with his extended family every Christmas.

Devoted to his family, he loved traveling to visit his daughters, son and his grandchildren.

Dad cared deeply for animals and had many beloved pets over the years, Deja and Maple, in particular.

Surviving are children, Cavell Feeney, New Glasgow; Susan (William) Booth, Hatchet Lake; Derek (Alla) Kellock, Surrey, B.C.; grandchildren, Ryan Feeney (Francesca Albanese), Shea (Kristoffer) Wihlborg and Cameron Kellock; brother, Sandy (Dianne) Kellock; sisters, Vi Ross and Lois Gillis; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Eleanor (Barnett) Kellock; siblings, Frank, Douglas, Scott, Erma, Norval, Peg, Irving, Maxine, Roy, Earle, Jean, Ione, Ross, Herdie and Marlene.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 5 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.  Monday, November 6 in the chapel with Rev. Hallett Llewellyn, and Rev. Karen MacKay Llewellyn officiating.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton.

The Kellock family wish to thank Dr. Anne Kwasnik-Krawczyk and the nursing staff of the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Gordon’s family is deeply appreciative of the loving care provided by sister-in-law, Peggy Barnett and friend, Walter Cameron.
