Obituary of Brice Kelvin Weatherbee

Brice Kelvin Weatherbee, 70, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Roy Dickson and Hazel Clarissa (Hunt) Weatherbee.  Brice was employed in the tire industry for over 46 years, a career he thoroughly enjoyed. For the past 12 years, he was employed with Tirecraft Canada, where he was the Business Development Manager for Atlantic Canada. Brice was a Jazz and Blues enthusiast, an accomplished drummer and percussionist, having played in several local bands. Music from every genre was always playing in his home.

Brice is described by his colleagues as a “true gentleman” and “well liked by his clients”. He is remembered for his calm nature and ability to make people laugh. Brice is described by friends as a “terrific human” who will be dearly missed.  To his family, he was their “rock”, kind, considerate and supportive.  Above all, Brice was a loving and devoted, husband and father.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Roberta “Robbie” Weatherbee; daughter, Joanna Weatherbee (Michael Rolfe), Eden Lake; son, Lane Weatherbee, New Glasgow; grandson, Hunter Shellito and his mother, Megan MacLean, Truro; sisters, Hannah (Peter) Johnson, Truro; Doreen VanBuren, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bud Weatherbee.

A celebration of life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, December 16 in Shaun’s Beverage Room and Lounge, 135 Provost Street, New Glasgow.

During Brice’s brief illness, the family took notice of the amount of blood products that were required for him.  In memory of Brice and to help others in similar circumstances, a donation of blood to your local blood bank would be greatly appreciated.
