Obituary of Michelle Yvonne MacLaughlin

Michelle Yvonne (Brewer) MacLaughlin, 42, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the Halifax Infirmary, with her loving family by her side.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Alex and Audrey Darlene (Wilson) Brewer.

Michelle grew up in the Thorburn area, attending Thorburn Consolidated School and then moving on to East Pictou where she excelled as a student, making many life long friends. After high school, Michelle attended St. Francis University where she successfully completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Michelle started her career as a nurse in 2004, a profession which she truly loved. Michelle spent most of her nursing career as an ER nurse at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro where she was deeply loved and respected by those who knew her.

Although Michelle took great pride in being a nurse, her biggest accomplishment and joy in life was being a mom to her three children, Jayme Lynn, Katie and Kyle whom she loved beyond measure. Michelle is described as “loving”, “kind”, “the rock of her family” and “beautiful in every way”. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She especially loved her fur babies Chase, Meow Meow and Iris.

Although saddened at her passing, Michelle’s family are comforted to know that for Michelle life has changed and not ended.
