Obituary of Jean Vera Patterson
Jean Vera Patterson, 98, Woodfield, passed away, Sunday, January 14, 2024, in The Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Moses Priest and Olla Daisy (Reid) MacKinnon. Jean was employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 17 years prior to retirement. Previous, she had been employed with the former Clairtone, Stellarton for six years and in earlier years for several restaurants. She had been a member of the former French River Presbyterian Church and Women’s Missionary Society, French River Women’s Institute and the “Tub’s Club”. Jean had served for many years on the French River Cemetery Committee. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed sharing life with her family and friends.
Surviving are her son, Barry (Jeanie) Patterson, Woodfield; grandchildren, Darin (Cindy), Scott (Karen), Brad (Monica), Heather, Gregory (Tannis), Melissa and Melanie; great-grandchildren, Merissa, Emily, Alanna, Daniel, Bryce, Chase, Alicia, Adelle, Rachel, Sophia, Shaila, Keira, Breanna and Lucas; niece, Nancy (Lloyd) Forbes, Telford.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John George Patterson; daughter, Judith Carole Thomsen; sister Marie Carolyn Cameron; brother, John Lester Claire MacKinnon; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors 10-10:50 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in French River Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the French River Cemetery.
