Obituary of Laurette Marie Latourelle
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Laurette Marie (Paquette) Latourelle, announce the peaceful passing on January 30, 2024, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, with her family by her side.
Born in Verner, Ont. on February 5, 1935, Laurette was the third youngest of 13 siblings born to the late Horace and Rose Alma (Joly) Paquette. Mom was renowned for her bread which she shared with many and of course, her "tourtierre”. She always looked forward to hosting her famous family Sunday dinners with her sisters, Francoise and Lucille and their husbands, George and Gerry, this of course was after an entertaining afternoon of music at the "Club Amical". We must not forget Mom's passion for ballroom dancing with Dad, she loved it! Laurette was a member of the St. John the Baptist Parish, New Glasgow and longtime member of St. Jean Brebeuf Parish, Sudbury, Ont.
Laurette is survived by her husband of 71 years, Roger Albert Latourelle, New Glasgow; daughters, Anita Rychlo, London, Ont. and Colette Latourelle, Little Harbour; grandchildren, Nick (Naomi) Rychlo, Danielle Rychlo, Denny (Ashley) Latourelle, Kayla (Kory) Bell; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Chase, Maxwell, Ethan, Alaina and Hannah; sisters, Francoise (George) Rainville, Blezard Valley, Ont. and Rachelle (Marlyn) Stockdale, Huntington Beach, Calf.; sister-in-law, Carmen Paquette, Sudbury; brother-in-law, Gerry Blanchard, Sudbury; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by siblings, Doralice (Alexandre) Lefebvre, Cecile (Arthur) Chretien, Noella (Alfred) Larocque, Delina (Rolland) Robillard, Fleurange Beaudry, Gerard (Fernande) Paquette, Roland (Cecile) Paquette, Aurele (Rollande) Paquette, Raymond Paquette, Lucille Blanchard and Rosaire Paquette.
In honour of Mom’s wishes a private celebration of her life will be held in New Glasgow. Interment will be in St. Jacques Cemetery, Hanmer, Ont. at a later date.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the exceptional team working on the Glen Haven Manor, River Glen Unit for the care and compassion shown to mom and us, and which continues to be received by our dad.
Donations in Laurette's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Lovingly submitted by family
