Obituary of Charlie Anderson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. Charles “Charlie” Daniel Anderson, 61, Hillside passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital on March 31, 2024 with his loving partner Ann Marie by his side.

Charlie was born on July 15, 1962 in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Warren and Jean Anderson. To say he was proud to be a lifelong resident of the Egypt Road would be an understatement.

In his younger years, Charlie loved a good ole game of hockey, whether that be a game on the pond or a Saturday night where he and his friends would rent the Trenton Rink for a weekly pickup game. Charlie was known as a very good skater and shooter who was smooth on his feet. Charlie was a faithful Montreal Canadians fan who never missed a game whether they were winning or losing. At the ripe age of 15, Charlie entered the workforce and was employed by the Trenton Car Works where he met many a lifelong-friends who knew him as a hard worker and one who knew how to crack a joke. Later on in life Charlie was also employed by Tuppers Trucking, CF Construction, Kings Freight, and Sanjel Energy Services. Charlie loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. Every Sunday Ann Marie would cook a beautiful meal where Charlie would be joined by his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and anyone who happened to drop by. It was an open-door policy at Charlie and Ann Marie’s home with no invitation necessary. He would give the shirt off his back to anybody without a second thought. Anyone who was blessed to know and love Charlie would testify to that.

Surviving are his loving partner of 24 years, Ann Marie; daughters, Amber and her children, Maddy and Angel; Raylene (James) and her children, Layla and Bella; Donalda (Katherine “Spice”); Troy and his children, Deaunte and Aaliyah; and Roman (Sue) and their children, Harlen, Mia and Sophia; brother, Robert; sisters, Ann (David); Lizzy (Paul); Donna (David “Illy”); special niece, Mary-Jean (Jeffrey) and their children, Morgan, Carley and Leah; chosen brother, Danny (Darlene); chosen son, Matthew (Melissa) and his chosen grandchildren, Melia and Ethan. Charlie had numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins that were like brothers and sisters to him.

Besides his parents, Warren and Jean Anderson, he was predeceased by a younger brother in infancy, John Warren.

The family will receive visitors in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. in  Trenton Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Osmel Pozo Serrano officiating. Internment will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Charlie’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital for the impeccable hospitality and compassion that they displayed toward both Charlie and his family in his final days.

If desired, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Charlie to the Aberdeen Hospital or the VON who both provided exceptional care, love and support to Charlie and his family.

“Christ died, and we have been joined with him by dying too. So we will also be joined with him by rising from death as he did.” - Romans 6:5 ERV

Lovingly written by family.
