Obituary of Arthur Alphonso Cameron
CHANCE HARBOUR - Arthur Alphonso “Art” Cameron, 76, New Glasgow, formerly of Chance Harbour, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, with his daughter, Rachel by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Bruce William and Alice Doris (Fraser) Cameron. Art was employed with Town of Trenton Public Works for many years. He was an expert with a chainsaw and was most happy cutting trees down. Art’s “little piece of paradise” was his property on Cameron Farm Lane in Chance Harbour. His children have fond memories of younger years when every Saturday was ice cream day and movies at the Odeon Theatre. The boys remember many weekend trips to Cameron Farm Lane to work around the property. For Art, “life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are his children, Kathy Cameron, Holland Landing, Ont.; Arthur Adams, Dartmouth; Kevin (Ashley) Adams, Halifax; Steven Adams, Halifax; Charlene Adams, Edmonton, Alta.; Rachel Adams, New Glasgow; mothers of his children, Ceta Stewart and Ava Morrison; grandchildren, Andrew Fraser; Max, Jake and Ellie Adams; Sarah Adams; Jordis and Ira Adams-Falconer; siblings, Sandra Walsh, Walter Cameron, Priscilla Phalen, Helen Roper (Donnie Murray); many nieces and nephews; close friend, Jonathan Bernard “JB” Cameron.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Duncan, and George Cameron.
In keeping with Art’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
