Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Koszkulics

KINGS HEAD – Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Koszkulics, 67, Kings Head, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Ronald and Joyce Frances (Reid) Bugden. Prior to retirement in 2022, Liz was employed with Canada Post for over 30 years, first as an outside mail driver and as an inside postal worker for the later part of her career. She was actively involved with the Maritime racing community for 50 years with her husband, George. Liz was actively involved with the Riverside International Speedway, James River in many capacities. Her second home was in Margaree, where she was actively involved with the Margaree Highlanders Snowmobile Club for the past 15 years, supporting fun raising efforts and organizing club functions. Liz enjoyed entertaining and turned their new garage in Margaree in their “new entertainment center”. She thoroughly enjoyed being with family and friends. Liz enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her sister, and best friend, Kathleen. Her “grandbabies” were her “world”, she took every opportunity to spend time with each one of them.  Liz enjoyed a close relationship with her daughters, who will miss her early morning (5 a.m.) texts.  She met the love of her life, George at the age of 15, they married when she was 17 and they never “looked back”. They thoroughly enjoyed years of adventure together, racing, working, raising their family, and watching the sunsets on the Margaree. For Liz, “Life has changed; not ended!”

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, George Albert Koszkulics; daughters, Suzanne (Warren) Francis, Pictou Landing; Amanda Koszkulics, New Glasgow; grandchildren, MacKenzie (Tyler), Michaela (Cameron), Jarrod (Sara), Megan and Autumn (Dale); great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Bryson, Brynlee and Jorja; sister, Kathleen (Russ) Andrews, Little Harbour; brothers, Ronald (Ginny) Bugden, Little Harbour and Robert (Leanne) Bugden, Little Harbour; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Janet Turple.

In keeping with Liz’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
