Obituary of Dorothy Sadie MacLeod

Dorothy Sadie MacLeod, 79, Avondale, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 7, 2024, at home.

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Earl and Violet Ruth (Harnish) Coolen. Prior to retirement, she had been a supervisor at Frank H. MacDonald Elementary School and New Glasgow High Schools. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Fellowship, Blues Mills.

Surviving are her husband, James Cameron “Camie” MacLeod; daughter, Edna, Dartmouth; son, James (Jennifer) MacLeod, Fredericton, N.B.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister; brothers, Leslie Charles Coolen; Earle Allister Coolen.

The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.  A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 in Hatties Cemetery, Avondale with Rev. Wayne MacLeod officiating.
