Obituary of Michael Earl MacKenzie

Michael Earl MacKenzie, 31, New Glasgow, passed away, Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Lawrence Earl MacKenzie and Shawna Marie Taylor, and stepson of Robert Clyburn. Michael spent countless hours with his fur-buddies, Belle, Soup, Smokie and Squirt. He enjoyed being outdoors and going on picnics with egg sandwiches. Michael and his pal Sterling enjoyed a new adventure every week from outdoor music events, driving the old car and visiting waterfalls. He was a proficient collector of various items and model car builder. Michael was a well-mannered, likeable, sweet young man who will be fondly remembered for his ability to smile with his eyes.   

Surviving besides his father, Earl, New Glasgow, and mother, Shawna (Robert Clyburn), New Glasgow, are his brother, Ryan Taylor (Siobhan Melanson) and their children, Elizabeth and Jessie; most wonderful maternal grandmother, Lorraine Taylor, New Glasgow; chosen nan and papa, Sterling and Rita MacDonald; stepsisters, Melissa and Wendy Clyburn, Cambridge, Ont.; step-brother, Justin (Janine) Clyburn and their children, “The Littles” -Guylaine, Mia, Nevaeh, Justine and Shawna, New Glasgow; “chosen sister”, Amber Scott, New Glasgow; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive visitors 1-1:50 p.m. Sunday, August 4 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
