Obituary of Penny Dobson

 

Ruth Penelope Dailene “Penny” Dobson, 67, Thorburn, formerly of Brookfield, Colchester Co., passed away peacefully, Monday, August 12, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a brief illness with her siblings by her side.

 

Born July 8, 1957, in Bible Hill, she was a daughter of the late John Dexter and Alma Ruth Marie (Smith) Dobson.  Prior to retirement, Penny was employed for 36 years with Polymer Intertape, Truro.  She enjoyed travelling, Western movies and spending time with her family. Penny’s precious fur baby, Milo, was her constant companion.

 

Surviving are her brother, Ben (Arlene) Dobson, New Glasgow; sister, Janet (Gordie) Brown, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Cynthia O’Connor, Bridgeville; long-time friends, Ella David and Norma MacGregor; nieces and nephews, David (Chriss) Dobson, Jennifer (Alain) Dobson-Melanson, Amanda Brown and Candace Brown, Blair Dobson (Nicole) and Nicole Dobson (Travis); many great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

Penny was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth; brothers, Melvin and Timmy; nephews, John Gordon Brown in infancy and Matthew Alan Brown.

 

The family will receive visitors from 1 – 1:50 p.m. Friday, August 16 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gail Johnson Murdock officiating. 

  

Interment will be in Watson Cemetery, Truro at a late date.
