Obituary of Donna Grace Roulston
Donna Grace Roulston, 71, Stellarton, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Grant West and Margaret Catherine (Wyatt) (West) McCormick. Donna worked in finance with several companies until retirement. She thoroughly enjoyed studying genealogy and became a certified genealogist through the University of Toronto. Donna was a perpetual student, always eager to learn, most recently began studying the Spanish language. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and creating doll furniture. Donna was an accomplished artist, having extensive knowledge and practice in applied and folk art. She was always eager to “lend a hand” and offer a word of encouragement. Donna loved people and was always kept in touch with her siblings and their children. She adored her two sons and was proud of the men they had become. Donna often expressed gratitude that she had met and married the perfect partner. She leaves a rich legacy of love, kindness and generosity to her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Carson Roulston; sons, Wyatt Roulston (Jessica), Enfield; Travis Roulston, Stellarton; sisters, Marilyn Petrie, New Glasgow; Janet West, Pictou Landing; nieces, Marilyn (Vernon) Wright, Paula (Paul) Crosby and Donna (Mike) Poworoznyk; nephews, Chris (Jackie) Sheparski, Adam (Traci) Sheparski, Nathan (Ashley) Petrie and Andrew Burke.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother-in-law, Wayne Petrie; niece, Tracy Burke; nephew, Russell Petrie.
In honour of Donna’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held in Abercrombie Cemetery.
